Data sourcing methodology
Property values (density, melting point, tensile strength, chemical resistance) are drawn from manufacturer datasheets and material property databases. Sources cited per material include MatWeb, PlasticsEurope, and datasheets published by resin producers such as DuPont, Covestro, Celanese, Victrex, SABIC, Chemours, Solvay, Evonik, Arkema, BASF, Lubrizol, Wacker, and NatureWorks, among others named on each material's detail page.
Customs HS codes are drawn from official and commercial tariff references: the WCO HS Nomenclature, EU TARIC, USITC HTS, US CBP classification rulings, and the Turkish GTİP tariff schedule (gumruk.com.tr). Where a CBP ruling number is cited on a material's page, that ruling is the direct source for the code shown.
Every material entry lists its specific sources. Where classification is genuinely contested, inconsistent across rulings, or dependent on physical form (resin versus sheet versus fiber versus finished article), that nuance is stated on the material's page instead of being smoothed into a single confident code.
What this platform does not do
It does not invent test data, certifications, or company endorsements. It does not carry customer testimonials or logos — this is a reference resource, not a brand site. It does not substitute for an engineering test report or a binding customs ruling.
Customs classification disclaimer
HS codes on this platform are reference starting points, not filing-ready determinations. Several materials in this dataset — including PEEK, PPS, CFRP, and GFRP — have classification histories that are explicitly inconsistent across customs rulings or depend on the physical form and importing jurisdiction of the specific product. A code that applies to primary-form resin often does not apply to a finished article, a fiber or yarn form, or a laminate sheet of the same material.
